Botanical Mono-printing: using natural dyes – Sat 8 June
1:00pm – 4:00pm, Saturday, June 8, 2019
Create one-off monotype prints with natural dyes using the Bundle dye technique.
In this fun and creative workshop learn how to make your own patterned fabric using flowers and left-over food waste. A simple yet effective method of natural dyeing, Bundle dyeing allows for the transferring of natural dyes from plants onto fabric through the process of steaming.
Using easy to find materials and equipment, participants will be introduced through this technique to the basics of natural dyeing. With time for experimenting, participants will each leave with their own fabric creations, along with the knowledge and skills required to use this technique at home.
This is a great introductory workshop for anyone interested in natural dyes.
