Improve your Cycling Confidence 24/11/18
24/11/18, 2:00pm – 4:30pm
Want to get on your bike but lack the confidence or ability?
Join our free cycling classes hosted by the cycling team from ELREC. There will be two sessions –
Beginners: 2pm – 3:30pm.
Intermediate: 3:30pm – 4:30pm.
The classes are FREE and OPEN to ALL. ELREC can provide bikes/helmets and will run through exercises and fun games to learn cycling skills in a relaxed environment. Children are welcome under adult supervision but the number of kids bikes is limited.
The Beginners class will happen in a safe environment within the croft and consists of going over the basics:
-Mounting and dismounting
-Breaking and Stopping
The Intermediate class happens both on the croft and nearby residential area with low traffic. It consists of going over:
– More advanced games and exercises
– How to be safe on the road
– Signalling, positioning and turning
The aim of this workshop is to help you go to a level where you can cycle safely on the road and feel confident to use your bike more often than public transport or your car!
