Intro to Bike Repair and Maintenance Skills – 29th August
29th Aug, 10am – 12noon
Want to know how to repair or service your own bike? Not sure what tools to use? Need advice on parts?
Come along to this workshop run by experienced, friendly and Velotech certified bike mechanic Caro Kemp to learn the basics of how to fix your own bike.
This session isn’t about getting your bike fixed (come along to a Dr Bike for that!). It will be a hands on workshop which will provide you with basic knowledge on quick fixes and regular checks you can do yourself to keep your bike on the road – including the tools & manuals you will need to guide you through the process. Some basic parts and freebies will be provided!
Session will cover:
M check, puncture repair, break adjustments, gear adjustments, chain adjustments, adjusting hubs, the training provider will ask participants of any issues they have with their bikes to demonstrate fixes and there will be a reflection on climate change.
Please let us know in advance of the workshop if you have a specific issue, or if there is something specific that you would like to learn on the day (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Please bring your own bike, any tools you already have and suitable clothes.
