Make your own Botanical Cosmetics
12:00 am – 4:00pm, Saturday, June 22, 2019
Participants will learn how to use botanicals and other natural ingredients to make some shower/bath products – perfect for yourself or as a gift to someone special!
This is a hands-on workshop where participants will be making their own beauty products with enough to take some home and share with friends!
Making cosmetics is more akin to cookery than chemistry, and the course safely guides the participants through the basic steps and principles of working with herbs, oils, and waxes, while at the same time signposting possible directions for discovery and further experimentation. There will be a print-out of the teaching materials with additional recipes, and all the principles that will allow you to develop your own unique products.
Making your own skincare and beauty products is great fun, and can also be very empowering since you can choose what to put in and which ingredients to avoid. Learning how to make use of the medicinal properties of the most common wild and garden plants also opens the path to a very inexpensive way of looking after your own beauty and health.
