Planning your Growing Year
10:00 am – 2:30pm Saturday, February 16, 2019
Join Tom, the Leith Community Croft resident gardener, to learn how to draw up a plan for sowing, growing and harvesting to make best use of your plot or growing area in the season to come. The focus of this workshop will be on producing a simple but effective plan tailored to the needs of individual participants.
Why come along?
January through to February is traditionally the time of year when gardeners are thinking about what they will be growing in the coming year. It is the time when new seed catalogues are released and when seed potatoes are available. What will be consumed anything up to a year from now is, more often than not, dependant on decisions made at this planning stage.
- Sowing-and-growing charts
- setting up a seed sharing group
- Seed catalogue review
- Practical session, sewing the first crops in the greenhouse/
