Self-Care in Difficult Times – Sat 5th Dec
5th Dec, 3:00 pm – 5:00pm
This Shiatsu touch therapy workshop, which is much needed in these uncertain times, has been adapted to be run online!
In this workshop, Jenny will be introducing you to some easy-to-use exercises and self-Shiatsu techniques that can be used as part of a daily routine or when you need some ‘emotional first aid’ in times of stress and anxiety; and to encourage a sense of well-being in amongst difficult times.
We will address physical aches and pains that may get stored in the body due to stress, and encourage a sense physical and emotional well-being by calming the mind and relaxing the body.
If you are suffering from ‘touch deprivation’, this workshop can help to soothe, relax and connect you to yourself and others.
If you are suffering from physical and mental tiredness due to working from home and/or ‘zoom fatigue’, this workshop can help that too!
By the end of the session, you will have:
- an awareness of how stress and anxiety can be held in the body,
- tips and techniques of how to recognise and release this tension.
- acupressure points for ‘emotional and physical ‘first aid’
- handouts so you can continue to practice after the workshop
Shiatsu is a combination of traditional Japanese touch therapy (acupressure massage) and a current understanding of anatomy, physiology and psychology. Shiatsu means ‘finger pressure’ in Japanese and its springs from the same ancient principles as acupuncture. It’s often described as ‘acupuncture without the needles’
