Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions are for all courses, workshops and events organised by the Croft Carbon College.
Concessionary Discount Information
A concessionary rate is available for the following:
- LCCiP Croft members
- Full time students
- Anyone in receipt of the following
- disability allowance
- Carer’s allowance
- Job seekers allowance.
To qualify for a concessionary fee you must be eligible at the time of the course and will be required to provide satisfactory evidence of such.
If you are a concessionary user, you will need to add the relevant discount code(s) to your workshop upon checkout, these can be found in each course description.*
*(please note – you cannot use any additional discount code and this discount does not apply to courses on sale)
Some of our courses may incur other expenses in addition to your course fees (eg cooking ingredients, packed lunch, art materials). Please do not purchase anything before your first session unless requested to do so on your course description or via communication with the course facilitator before the first session. No liability can be accepted for expenses incurred for a course cancelled/altered at short notice.
Cancellations & Refunds
We reserve the right to close, cancel or combine courses if numbers fall below the point at which a workshop does not reach the required number of participants.
You may withdraw from a workshop up to 3 days before the date and receive a refund less than £5 registration fee as long as you inform the Croft Carbon College team on email@example.com.
Otherwise no refunds are given unless we cancel the course or fail to provide it as advertised.
If you do not turn up for a workshop, and have not informed the Croft Carbon College team you will not be entitled to a refund.
We will refund any money received either by making a repayment to the debit/credit card used, or by cheque. Where a fee is taken by cash, the fee will be refunded by cheque. A payment will normally be made within 30 days.
Code of conduct
The Croft Carbon College reserves the right to exclude any student on the grounds of unacceptable behaviour.
Students are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit for any courses that include physical skills or activities. All students undertake such courses at their own risk.
Students are responsible for personal property and equipment whilst on Leith Community Crops in Pots (LCCiP) premises or whilst attending Croft Carbon College outwith LCCiP premises. The Croft Carbon College, and LCCiP, will not accept responsibility for damage caused to, or loss of a learner’s property.
Confirmation of your place on a Croft Carbon College workshop does not guarantee a car parking space near to the croft. The Croft is located on Leith Links, a public park in Leith, and does have nearby but limited on-street parking.
We would actively encourage all participants to use alternative travel, including walking, cycling, or bus to attend the venue. If cycling, you are able to lock your bike on the internal railing of the croft (for outdoor workshops) or use the carpark at the back of Davidson House (for indoor workshops). We are currently investigating the possibility of installing a bike cage on the croft.
No Smoking Policy
Leith Community Crops in Pots operates a Smoke Free policy. Smoking is not permitted on Leith Community Crops in Pots premises or in play parks, car parks, courtyards and other outdoor spaces under the Council’s jurisdiction and used by children.
