Food Fermentation (Kimchi/Kraut)
THIS COURSE HAS NOW SOLD OUT!
3:00 pm – 5:00pm Sunday, February 10, 2019
The aim of this workshop is for participants to learn how to make kraut and kimchi and how to test & trial variations of both to make their own at home – a brilliant use of leftover winter veggies!
Edinburgh Fermentarium founder, Ruth Munro, will introduce participants to the delicious and nutritious world of fermented vegetables – all done with a festive twist of ingredients. The techniques you will learn have been used for centuries across the world – and the result is a tangy treat that not only packs a punch in the flavour department, but is full of health-promoting nutrients and bacteria.
Participants will make their own Kraut and Kimchi to take home, with various optional ingredients to a personalised twist. All ingredients and optional spices will be provided – though participants are asked to bring 2 sterilised recycled glass jars along – see Requirements below.
