Food Growing Workshop 1: Propagation (30th May 2020)

This is the first workshop of the Croft Carbon College Food Growing Trainees series, so we’re going to get our growing season started by sowing seeds for the months ahead!
We will send you a video tutorial made by us in advance of the group discussion to learn how to sow seeds in modules and direct into nursery beds, how to care for seedlings until they are ready to plant out and how to plan your sowing schedule.
You will also learn to propagate from existing plants – you will learn how to take cuttings from culinary herbs and have the chance to take some cuttings home. We’ll also (briefly) cover other kinds of vegetative propagation, such as layering and grafting.
Once you watch the video you will then have an online meeting via Zoom with your facilitator and other course participants to discuss, share experiences and ask questions on:
