Food Growing Workshop 1: Propagation (28th March 2020)
Saturday 28th March 2020
This is the first workshop of the Croft Carbon College Food Growing Trainees series, so we’re going to get our growing season started by sowing seeds for the months ahead!
In this workshop we’ll be learning to sow seeds in modules and direct into nursery beds, how to care for seedlings until they are ready to plant out and how to plan your sowing schedule.
We will also learn to propagate from existing plants – you will learn how to take cuttings from culinary herbs and have the chance to take some cuttings home. We’ll also (briefly) cover other kinds of vegetative propagation, such as layering and grafting.
