Food Growing Trainees 2020 – Full Course
Make 2020 the year you grow your skills and confidence in the garden. Whether you have a tiny container garden, an allotment or a dream of becoming a market gardener, this course is a good place to start if you’re new to growing food.
The course takes place over 5 months of the 2020 growing season with 7 workshops. Each workshop will be split into two sections. Firstly we will send you a video/tutorial of the workshop to watch at home and secondly there will be a group discussion via Zoom on Saturday mornings (11am-12pm). These group sessions will be fun and informal as well as informative and will cover different aspects of planning, growing and harvesting.
Workshop 1 30th May: Propagation (seeds and cuttings)
Workshop 2 13th June: Preparing the Ground: Site, soil and transplanting
Workshop 3 27th June: Small space and container growing (including building a planter to take away)
Workshop 4 11th July: Summer tree pruning
Workshop 5 25th July: Planning a vegetable garden
Workshop 6 29th August: Spotlight on winter salads
Workshop 7 26th September: Seed saving, storage and preserving.
