Outdoor Clothing Repair – 5th March
5th March, 6-8pm
Outdoor clothing is great for keeping you warm and dry. However, it is also made from numerous synthetic materials, plastics and solvents, which can cause environmental damage in the name of producing a functional, lightweight and durable garment.
This hands-on and very practical workshop you’ll learn how to make the most of you outdoor gear:
- Learn simple repairs to reduce waste and save you money.
- Find out how to care for your outdoor apparel in a way that conserves resources and makes them last longer.
- Advice on recycling and greener end-of-life disposal of your garments (for when it becomes more patch than jacket!).
Bring a waterproof jacket or other item of outdoor clothing you’d like to work on. Fabric, needles and thread and other materials will be provided.
Course provider: Ewan Glendinning, MSc Sustainability Education student and outdoor gear specialist.
