We’re excited to announce our first Food Growing Traineeship this year!
All the know-how you need to get growing! In this six-month course over nine sessions, we’ll cover all aspects of growing food, from preparing the ground and propagation through to harvest, storing and seed saving.
Sessions run on Saturday mornings, 10:30-13:30. Dates below:
13th July: Preparing the Ground – Bed preparation, soil-sampling and no-dig.
27th July: Propagation – Starting off seeds and taking cuttings
10th August: Container Growing – Build a windowbox to take home.
24th August: Crops for Autumn and Winter
7th September: All about salads – Plan and plant up a vibrant wnter salad bed.
5th October: Seed Saving – learn about seed diversity and seed saving techniques.
2nd November: Storage and Preserving – build a vegetable clamp and make some pickles
7th December: Planning ahead – make a plan for your growing space next year.
4th January: Tree pruning and Wassail – learn to prune fruit trees and welcome in the New Year!
Each session there will be the opportunity to harvest some herbs or vegetablesto take home.
