Outdoor Education Officer
Catherine joined the Croft Carbon College in May 2019 and runs the food growing trainee programme. She is a market gardener and environmental educator who is passionate about food system change from plot to plate. She has worked on community farms and gardens for years and loves the way that gardening alongside people opens up conversations and provides a chance for people to share knowledge from across different places and generations.
Catherine has worked as a vegetable grower in the Borders and central Perthshire, but she got into food growing in an urban setting, as a school gardens co-ordinator with Trees for Cities and as a trainee with Organiclea growers co-op in London. She is a self-confessed plant geek, with a BSc in Plant Science and an MSc in Outdoor Environmental and Sustainability Education from Moray House.
